Quinoa, Quin-WHOA

There was some serious succeeding going on in my little apartment Friday. The place was clean. The kitchen was busy. My mom came over and played with the cats while I cooked her a meal. Chilled quinoa dish, a Greek salad with red wine vinaigrette, and chicken with olives. What's the best way to know your mom loved your food? When she takes home the leftovers, despite knowing how broke her daughter might be.
Quinoa and chicken with olives. Cooking I can do, plating I cannot.
(Estimated) Quinoa Salad Recipe (SO WORTH A TRY! Makes about two portions)
1/2 cup quinoa, cooked and cooled
1/3 cup crumbled feta cheese
1/2 cup diced tomatoes
1/4 cup  chopped green onions
1/4 cup chopped parlsey
1/4 cup chopped cilantro
the juice of one 1/2 lemon
drizzle of olive oil
salt & pepper to taste

Mix all that good stuff together, eat, and love your life. A little bit of mint or diced cucumber would be a really amazing addition, too. Feel good about eating this, quinoa is a perfect protein!

Handmade Valentine. Apparently any photo taken on my table cloth is incapable of proper rotation (believe me, I've tried everything!) Made from my excess of scrap yarn and glitter glue that I refuse to throw away
Friday's Outfit
Bow: Thirfted with matching scarf, $.50
Top: Thrifted, $1.50
Jeans: Outlet store, $15.00
Approximate Cost: $17.00

I bought this pretty brushed aluminum Polaroid Pronto! B camera for $3.99 at Salvation Army. I love the kitsch of exclamation points built into titles and model names. Generally I can care less about these, but it came with film inside, the original manual, and the leather case. Of course, the battery is inside the film cartridge, long expired. Oh well.

Least cohesive post yet! Whoops. Have a good Monday, ya'll.

  1. I find this to be a very cohesive post. That picture of you is very much a kitsch exclamation point in itself. Fabulous!
