I Bought a Fancy Thing...

In a step toward increasing my productivity and possibly step up my "branding" game, I invested in a fancy camera. A big thanks to Liz, a super wonderful friend and talented photographer, who helped me choose the right camera for me. This Nikon D3100 is a big step up from my little Canon Powershot SD1100 (which still works and will still get plenty of use).

I will be honest and admit I have no idea how to really use it, but I've already begun the learning process. This model even has its own Guide Mode that has helped me practice and understand its various settings.

Here's my first hilarious first shot with the Nikon:

And for proof that I am not totally hopeless, a handsome photo of my boo running around our 'hood last night, post-German American Festival:

This was taken without a flash, at almost midnight! I was very anxious to upgrade to a camera capable of taking low-light photos that weren't grainy and discolored. Voila!
